Oct 9 : A Continuing Nursing Education Programme on Diet for Health was organized by the Continuing Nursing Education Cell of the Nursing Service Department of Father Muller Medical College Hospital on 3rd,4th and 5th October 2019.

The CNE was inaugurated by Ms. Renita Noronha, ANS.

The speaker, Ms. Sandis Joseph , Dietitian, FMMCH highlighted the importance of consuming a well balanced diet for better health with the seven essential factors for a balanced diet : Carbohydrates, protein, fat, fiber, vitamins, minerals and water which are needed to be taken in an adequate amount. She also explained the food items which need to be avoided or included with regard to specific diseases and emphasised that, consumption of proper diet is essential for the better prognosis of the patients, along with the medications.

The main reason for this CNE was to make the lifestyle dietary changes for oneself and to help in educating patients and children on eating habits and consumption of balanced diet.

Sr Flossy gave a token of appreciation to the CNE speaker. Organising Secretary was Mrs. Neha Maria Joy, ANS. Rev. Sr Janet D’Souza, Chief Nursing Officer heads the Nursing Services Department of FMMCH.
