Mangaluru, Oct 10: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College (FMHMC), a unit of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Mangaluru organised a 2 day national homoeopathic conference 2015 on October 10 and 11 at FMHMC, Deralakatte.

The inaugural function for the conference was held at FMHMC, Deralakatte on October 10 at 9.30 am. J R Lobo, MLA of south Mangaluru constituency was the chief guest for the inaugural function. The other dignitaries were Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director, FMCI and president of the national conference 2015, Fr Vincent Saldanha, administrator, FMHMC and hospital, Dr Shivaprasad, principal, FMHMC and organising chairman of the National Conference 2015 and Dr Vilma D’Souza, HOD of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology and organising secretary of the national conference 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

 


The principal, Dr Shivaprasad welcomed the gathering and emphasised on the aspect of keeping up with global changing trends. FMHMC has taken up the theme this year on research and techniques in gynaecological cancer and homoeopathic management for the national conference 2015 to help the homeopathic fraternity to update themselves on this topic.

This was then followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and Dr Lakshmi Praba, the delegate representative. J R Lobo, MLA south Mangaluru constituency spoke on how doctors should have a heart and render services to the patients and to not commercialise medicine. He also focused on the fact that as Father Augustus Muller from Germany and founder of Father Muller Charitable Institutions had started rendering selfless service to the poor at Kankanady with homoeopathy medicines, the doctors should take him as a role model and be inspired to be like him.

The administrator, Fr Vincent Saldanha, spoke on how homeopathy treatment is effective in treating advanced diseases as a curative, palliative and pain relieving treatment and how this conference will help practitioners for the same.

The chief guest, J R Lobo, MLA south Mangaluru constituency was felicitated by a memento presented by the director, Fr Patrick Rodrigues. The director then delivered his message. The father threw light on a statistical report he came across, wherein 6 European countries, 40% of the cancer patients opted for complementary medicine. He said this conference is an encouragement to all doctors of modern and alternative systems of medicine to work in collaboration for the betterment of cancer patients.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Vilma D’Souza, HOD of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology and organising secretary of the national conference 2015.
