Sep 25 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Hospet unit organized ‘YUVA MILAN 2021’ - a half day programme on 19th September 2021, at Hospet Church Hall.

The programme began by seeking God's blessings. ICYM Hospet Unit President Winston Joel Sequeira welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by Rev Fr Gregory D’souza - Parish Priest along with Manohar Cutinha - Vice President & Vincent Santhmayor - Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council Hospet, Praful D’souza - President of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Prinson Pinto - Cultural Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Shiny Mendonca - Secretary of ICYM Hospet unit. Sr Laveena, Jesvita Pereira - Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Joslyn D’Souza - Red drop co-ordinator of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery and Animators of ICYM Hospet Unit were also present along with other dignitaries. Rev Fr Gregory D’Souza motivated the youth in his inaugural address.

At this event, ICYM Hospet Unit felicitated Mr Francis B. V. Goveas , retired post officer who served more than 23 years as a government employee in India Post and Mr Prinson Pinto - Vice President of ICYM Hospet Unit for being elected as Cultural Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery. ICYM Hospet unit also felicitated Jaison Pereira for being the President of ICYM Karnataka region.

Mr Francis Goveas gave a brief talk about the importance of government jobs in India and the benefits that come with them, encouraging the youth to apply for them. Mr Praveen Lawrence Lobo was the main resource person of this programme, who shared his insights on the topic “Investment and Savings”. ICYM Deanery Director Rev Fr Prem Prakash Cutinha also encouraged the youth to take part in all activities.

Veena Vas - Former General Secretary of ICYM Mangalore Diocese along with Jasison Periera conducted fun filled games and group activities. Many representatives from ICYM Moodbidri Deanery took part and supported throughout the programme.

At the valedictory ceremony, the Parish Priest Rev Fr Gregory D’souza and President of ICYM Hospet unit presented mementos to guests and resource persons.

Glany Colaco compered the whole programme and Shiny Mendonca proposed the vote of thanks. About 60 people took part and benefited from the programme.
