Sep 8 :The feast of Nativity of Mother Mary is one of the most important feast celebrated among the mangolarean catholics. The preparation for the nativity feast began on the 31st of August for 9 days. The feast mass was celebrated on 8th September at 7.30am.

The mass was celebrated by Fr James Dsouza assisted by Fr Rohan Lobo and Fr John Fernandes. The priest began the celebration by blessing the new corn followed by the word of god and a short reflection. The parish people then offered flowers to Mother Mary followed by a hymn ‘Sakkad sangatha meliya....Moriyek Hogalshiya’. After offering flowers, the holy mass began, where the priest addressed the people by saying the importance of nativity feast and mainly highlighted and focussed on the role of family. He told that nativity feast is a “family feast” and that when we pray the rosary as one family we experience the presence of Jesus.

There was a large gathering who took part in the nativity mass celebration following all the social distancing norms. Before entering the church, volunteers checked the temperature and also sanitizer was provided.

Parish priest thanked the people those who have rendered their help for all the days of novena and also on the feast day. The parish gurkar's distributed new corn and the sugarcane by ICYM members. This year’s celebration was not as grand as last year. But it was well organized and great initiative was taken by the parish committee. Parish Priest thanked Vice President Rohan Pereira, Secretary Anitha Colaco, Gurkars and Covid committee members.
