Mangaluru, Feb 4 : The Angelore Parish community celebrated their community day as 'A Day of Unity' with displaying their talents on Sunday the 3rd February 2019. The program commenced at 6 pm with a welcome note by Mr. Roshan Patrao the vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council.
The members of 21 wards participated in various items and brought out the unity in diversity of our mother India, melodious songs and skits expressed the rich heritage of Konkani culture. The comedy plays thrilled the audience. The religious sisters of all 4 convents came to the stage to sing a chorus praising the unity of the parish community.
The Parish Priest Rev Fr William Menezes while addressing the parishioners, said it is a wonderful day because parishioners not only exhibited their talents but also brought forth unity in their wards. Then he welcomed the chief guest of the day Mr. Vedavyas Kamath, the MLA of Mangalore South and placed before him the need of road widening which would be useful for all the citizens of the vicinity. Mr. Vedavyas Kamath expressed his joy over the participation in the events even by the senior citizens. He promised that he would see to the broadening of the road that leads to the church and the temple.
During the program the refreshments were served to all the audience. The secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council Ms. Dora Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks.
