July 14, 2017: A delegation of Catholic community in Mangaluru diocese led by M P Noronha, secretary of diocesan pastoral parishad, visited state Director General of police Roopak Kumar Dutta on 14 Julu  and requested him to take measures to ensure peace and harmony in Dakshina Kannada district.

The delegation requested to form peace committees in district, taluk and rural levels consisting of community members who have control over the community and able to work with statutory powers.






"The intelligence department should be made active and an undertaking should be taken in writing as per columns between 106 to 110 of criminal procedure code as a precaution from suspects who are likely to spoil peace in the society.
