Jan 27 : The 70th Republic Day was celebrated at Lourdes Central School grounds on 26th January 2019. The programme began invoking God’s blessings through the Universal Prayer and hymn. Andrea of Class VIII introduced the Chief Guest and welcomed the gathering smartly.

The Chief Guest unfurled the national flag along with the dignitaries. The significance of the day was presented by Trisha of class IX and Christopher Joshua of Class VIII in Kannada and English respectively. The students of Class V presented a fascinating display and class IX a graceful dance which brought in a sense of patriotism among the audience.

Lt. Col. Ajay Pratap Singh, Chief Guest sharing his life experience on trust and loyalty grabbed the attention of the audience indeed. He advised the students to be loyal and truthful towards their parents and teachers.

Students who brought laurels to school by qualifying to the nationals of VVM and also inter-school achievers of various activities were honoured by the Principal, Rev Fr Robert D’Souza along with the other dignitaries.

The Manager Rev. Fr Wilson L. Vitus DSouza in his presidential address asked the students to love the Motherland and pray for the leaders ruling Mother India.

The programme was compered by Aashna Ferrao and Suha Khan of class VIII and the vote of thanks was delivered by Sholka Rai of class VII.
