Oct 11 : On 7th October 2018, a day’s holiday camp was organized by Child Sponsorship Programme of CODP. The camp was held in Kumbla centre of Mangalore Diocese. The talk for the children was on “Planning for one’s future”.

The project Coordinator of CODP first welcomed the resource person and participants and then introduced the resource person Fr. Francis Assisi Almeida to all the beneficiary students.

The talk on “Planning for one’s future” was selected in order that students should have their own dream. The resource person presented his talk by giving an example about life story of late President of India Dr Abdul Kalam Azad. He said that he was a selfless man and did not possess any assets of his own. He dedicated his life for uplifting the nation and trying to make it self sufficient.

Every student should have an aim and think about how to achieve it. First of all we should give importance to our hero viz. God and second our dream. God has made every human being unique. He explained this concept through slide show and examples. Fr Francis elaborated on this topic quoting various other personalities and urging the students to try and achieve some goal in their future.

The talk by the resource person was interesting and the children listened to it attentively. After the talk they thanked the resource person.

Thereafter the staff of CODP informed the students that the Czech Agency had organized a drawing competition and hence the children could draw greeting cards like birthday, Christmas and Easter wishes to be sent to the agency. Some of the higher class children prepared a few greeting cards and handed them over to the staff.

Before proceeding for lunch the children expressed their happiness regarding the programme and thanked the donor agency and CODP for organizing the same. The camp ended around 2.00 PM.
