June 27, 2018: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (I.C.Y.M) Central Council, Mangalore Diocese organized " P.S.T.A - 2018 " A training programme to all the Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers and Amcho Yuvak Representatives of all Units and Deaneries of Mangalore Diocese on June 24th 2018 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Centenary Memorial Hall, Jeppu, Mangalore.

Rev. Fr. Maxim Dsouza, Professor, St. Joseph Seminary, Jeppu was the Chief Guest for the programme along with Mr. Oscar Luvis, Vogga, Key Note Speaker for the programme, Diocesan Director Yuva Spoorthi Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza, Ajekar, Diocesan Assistant Director Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Diocesan President Mr. Elroy Patrick Saldanha, Omzoor, Diocesan General Secretary Mr. Joel Concessao, Milagres were present for the programme.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Diocesan President Mr. Elroy Patrick Saldanha welcomed the gathering.Rev. Fr. Maxim Dsouza along with other dignitaries on the dias inaugurated the programme by watering the sapling as a new initiative taken by ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese with the theme “ Grow Green - Each One Plant One ". Rev. Fr. Maxim Dsouza gave call to all the youth of Mangalore Diocese to get involved themselves in youth associations and take up leadership and as well he appreciated Grow Green initiative taken by ICYM Central Council. Diocesan General Secretary Mr. Joel Concessao thanked each and everyone by Vote of Thanks. After the Inaugural Session Ice Breaking Session was conducted by Mr. Jaison Periera, Shirthady and Animation Team. Diocesan PRO Mr. Rohan Lewis, Madanthyar introduced the gathering about Mr. Oscar Luvis, Vogga who took up session on Leadership, Youth in Politics and Society. Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza gave the key note address in which he elaborated the need of the training programme along with this ICYM Diocesan President Mr. Elroy Saldanha, General Secretary Mr. Joel Concessao, Treasurer Mr. Jaison Periera, Amcho Yuvak Representative Ms. Francin Mascarenhas conducted the training for the youth leaders.

Most. Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul Dsouza - Bishop of Mangalore was guest for the programme and he insisted the youth to be for the church and render their service to the society. The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was celebrated at St Joseph Church, Jeppu. Main Celebrant of the Holy Eurcharistic Celebration was Most. Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul Dsouza - Bishop of Mangalore, Co - Celebrant Rev. Fr. Clifford Fernandes, Parish Priest, St. Joesph Seminary, Jeppu who gave motivational sermon to the youth to develop their leadership qualities and take up responsibilities in the society along with Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza and Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza.

In the post lunch session Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza conducted Ice Breaking Session and briefed the youth about structure of I.C.Y.M and even how to conduct meetings and organize events in the Unit as well in the Deanery level along with this Rev. Ronald Prakash Dsouza announced the results of ICYM Mangalore Diocese Youth Awards, Best Unit Awards and Unique Programme Awards for the Deaneries. Diocesan Lady Vice – President Ms. Ivy Melisha Dsouza, Derebail and Diocesan Auditor Mr. Jovel Fernandes, Naravi compered the programme and participation certificates were distributed to all the youth. Total of more than 250 youth were present for the training programme.
