Sneha Okkoota Pakshikere celebrated Christmas on 20-12-2016 at RUSEMP, Pakshikere. Rev Fr Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP was the president of the celebration. Mr Nagesh President of Grama Panchayat Kemral was the inaugurator. Mr Miran Haaji, President of Badriya Juma Masjid was the chief guest. Mr Rocky Saldanha, President of Sneha Okkoota, Mr Ravikumar Crasta, CODP and Mrs Marceline, member of Christa Daya SHG Mulki the Santa Claus were present on the stage.

 

 

The programme started with a prayer. Mr Rocky Saldanha welcomed the dignitaries. Mr Nagesh the President of Kemral gram Panchayat inaugurated the programme by cutting the Christmas cake.  In his inaugural talk he said these kinds of programmes are meaningful. The media must highlight this because CODP is giving a beautiful message to the Indians and should live as one family. It is showing unity in diversity. People must live together with peace and happiness. CODP is doing a wonderful job in this regard he added. Lastly he greeted the people for Christmas.

Mr Miran Haaji the chief guest also appreciated and blessed the programme and gave greetings to everybody.

 

 

Lastly, Rev Fr Oswald Monteiro gave the presidential talk. During his speech he explained sweetly and shortly the background of Christmas and also its message to the people.

During this programme Mrs Pushpavathi, President of Sahane SHG - Thokur was felicitated. She had received gold medals for fancy dress competition at district level and at Shri Shreeram Karanth birthday programme at Udupi.

After that Mr Santa Claus started to sing the Christmas songs and distributed sweets to the children. The SHG members sang the Christmas carols and presented skits and dances. Finally cake and Christmas sweets (Kuswar) was distributed to all. 110 members attended this programme.
