Oct 30, 2016: Young Catholic Students Samavesh of Episcopal City Deanery was held on 30th of October 2016 at Padua college Auditorium. The event was attended by 105 students from 11 different parishes belonging to Episcopal Deanery.
The inaugural function was presided over by Rev. Fr Alwin Serrao, Principal, Padua Degree College. Mr. J. R. Lobo MLA, Mangalore South Constituency was the Chief Guest. Rev Fr Rupesh Madtha, Director YCS/YSM Mangalore Diocese was the guest of honour. Mr. Francis D’Cunha, Head master of Padua High-school was the resource person of the day.
The event named DIRVIM-2016 was inaugurated by Mr. J. R. Lobo who gave a call to the students to cultivate leadership quality in every field. He said that the catholic students get ample opportunities to develop their potential which they must use to develop their personality and become useful to the society. The president told that today EQ takes prominence over to IQ. IQ which can be developed only by participating group discussion in YCS cells.
After the inaugural ceremony Mr. Francis D’Cunha, the resource person of the day clarified the importance of being in YCS and how it helps in self learning. Rev Fr Rupesh Madtha, Director YCS/YSM Mangalore Diocese spoke about the importance values like discipline, modesty, respect for elders, self-restraint.
Ms. Lavita D’Souza – President of YCS Mangalore diocese, Mr. Vincent Goveas vice president of Bendur parish, Mr. Dion Mascarenahas, Deanery YCS president, Mr Alwin Dsouza Deanery YCS secretary, Mr. Robin Cuthino Animator, Rev. Fr Ashwwin Cardoza Deanery YCS director were present during the inauguration.
